About Me

For almost two decades I worked as an illustrator and in the last five years I have been into painting full time. I studied at the Art Students League in NYC under Joseph Peller and Sharon Sprung and more recently with Frank Arcuri at his studio in Bucks County, PA. My subject matter is mostly still lifes and figurative scenes and my media of choice is oil. See my website for more details and more paintings. www.ritamarandino.com

Thanks for your comments. I too am mesmerized by marbles, I just love painting them. I love the "old masters" quality of your work.

Hi Rita. It''s a something of a coincidence to see you join up here. The other day I was in my local frame shop/gallery getting something framed, and the owner was proudly showing a print of a very lovely still life. Lo and behold, it''s one of the one''s you''ve posted here! Your work is lovely.

Rita, sorry I didn''t answer sooner, I never "did" Surtex, although I walked around it several times. I''m very happy I''m not doing greeting cards anymore!

Rita - I love your website! Your acrylic paintings look so rich - just like oils. I placed a link to your web page on my blog. I hope you''ll stop by and check it out someday! - Jared http://jaredkelley.blogspot.com/

Rita, Well designed and executed compositions. I enjoy the rich harmonious color held in reserve against elegant grays. -BRYCE

The deep rich, even bold colours, grab the viewer and pull him into a closer inspection. Your still lifes in particular, set against dark shadows in burnt ochre, stand out in glowing tones. "The Silver Pitcher" and "Cantaloupe and fruit" are so well composed. The old burnished silver gleams, freshly polished no doubt. Thanks for sharing. - Allan
